Professor Peter Cameron Reports on the Developments in Qatar

Professor Peter Cameron head of the Critical Care Division at the SPHPM has been working on improving the emergency care in Doha, Qatar over the last year. He addressed the School’s Senior Staff Meeting last Monday (12th August), sharing with the group the developments taking place in Qatar. Professor Cameron has been influential in creating extensive new clinical protocols and policies which has already has significant impact on quality of care, overcrowding, access block and patient and staff satisfaction. To provide support and ensure sustainability and continued improvement, Professor Cameron has established the first emergency medicine research unit in Qatar. He has ambitious plans for the research program which commenced in March this year.  Educational opportunities have also been increased with new programs created to provide world-class education in emergency medicine
