The SPHPM academics present at CAPHIA

The Council of Academic Public Health Institutions Australia (CAPHIA) held their 2013 Teaching and Learning Forum on the 19th-20th of September. The forum included oral presentations from; Associate Professor Dragan Ilic, on his work in evidence based medicine and the effective use of blended learning with medical students, as well as Ms Basia Diug discussing her work in tertiary pathways and innovative teaching methods. This event was attended by staff from all across Australia.

Overall, this successful two day forum discussed important areas that will directly affect medical education including: the role of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) advantages and disadvantages, innovative teaching techniques (flip teaching and work integrated learning) and curriculum development.
