The Antimicrobial Stewardship Team, an collaborative
initiative between the Infectious Diseases Unit and Pharmacy at Alfred Health,
has been shortlisted for the Healthcare Innovation Awards. The team, which
includes A/Prof Allen Cheng from the Infectious Diseases Unit at the SPHPM, has developed several interventions to
optimize antimicrobial use which have been shown to reduce the use of broad
spectrum antimicrobials in inpatients at The Alfred.
