DEPM’s Clinical Registry Unit selected as preferred data registry supplier by ACSQHC

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in HealthCare has selected DEPM's Clinical Registry Unit, headed by Dr Sue Evans, as their preferred supplier for services in health information and data analysis, research and literature review and health information systems and web development.

Quality clinical data registries are being established progressively around the globe. They are widely recognised as a cost effective way to measure and benchmark outcomes of treatment, and provide hospitals and clinicians with feedback about performance in treating a growing number of conditions, which in turn results in improved patient outcomes, reduction in adverse events and cost savings.

DEPM has played a pivotal role in the establishment, management and analysis of clinical registries in Australia, and houses many clinical quality registries including The Australian Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons (ASCTS) Database, the Australian Cardiac Procedures Registry, The Bi-National Burns Registry (Bi-NBR), the Breast Device Registry, the Prostate Cancer Registry, the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry and the Victorian State Trauma Registry (VSTORM).
