Ms Melanie Gibson, a PhD Student at the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (formerly MARS) attended the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Annual Scientific Meeting in Sydney (8-11 September). The theme of the conference was "Evidence in Obsterics and Gynaecology (O&G) Food for Thought or Recipe for Disaster?" It covered diverse O&G topics including surgery, the supplement industry, mental health, infection and global women's health.Melanie who is supervised by Dr Jacqueline Boyle and Professor Helena Teede won the Best Free Communication Prize for her presentation titled "Maternal health and pregnancy outcomes among women of refugee background in Australia".
